A new report published on Thursday in the New York Times said the doomed Boeing jets which crashed in Indonesia and Ethiopia both lacked two safety features in the cockpits because the company charged extra to install them. Lion Air Flight 610 and Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 would have been helped by the features that detect erroneous readings, which some experts noted could be connected to the planes' failures. Both planes were brand new but were not equipped with an angle of attack indicator or an angle of attack disagree, according to The NYT.
